Part of a $19.5 Million Renovation and Expansion Fever Including 7,500 square feet of New Meeting Space and Nicklaus Golf Course Redesign
Brewster, MA – Ocean Edge Resort & Club on Cape Cod has announced a March, 2009 opening date for Cape Cod’s largest luxury ballroom and meeting space. The Bayside Ballroom at the Mansion at Ocean Edge will feature a 5,000 square foot ballroom and will be
the largest luxury venue on the Cape, a fantastic extension of the historic Nickerson Mansion. The Bayside Ballroom will accommodate events and weddings of up to 300 for dinner and dancing, and meetings of up to 300 classroom style. In June, 2008, the first floor and second floor lobby areas in the Nickerson Mansion were substantially renovated. Rooms that were previously closed off and used as private meeting areas are now open and have been converted to dining and informal sitting areas.
Linx Pavilion: Resort Side Venue for Weddings, Meetings and Tournaments
At the Villages at Ocean Edge, on the resort side, the 2,500 square foot Linx Pavilion was just completed overlooking the new Nicklaus Design Golf Course. The Linx Pavilion is a 2,500-square-foot transparent room and canopy adjacent to the Linx Restaurant. With a
sweeping view of the 18th hole, the versatile Linx Pavilion accommodates weddings, meetings, and tournaments. Lighting and décor can easily be changed to suit the venue, from twinkling lights for a casual starry night feel to elegant chandeliers for a more formal event.
Opening of $8.5 million Nicklaus Design Golf Course is Impetus for New Projects
Ocean Edge’s new Nicklaus Design golf course opened last spring on May 1. Ocean Edge Golf Course, one of Cape Cod’s few private fairways, is open to club members and resort guests. The greens on the par-72 course, with strategically placed bunkering and sand traps,
have been customized to United States Golf Association specifications. The renovation fever at Ocean Edge can be attributed to a number of factors, namely, the success of the newly formed Ocean Edge Club, which began selling memberships just over a year ago. Two hundred sixty-five golf memberships have been sold to date, with plans to cap golf memberships at 300. For the non-golfer, sports memberships are available with complete access to all resort pools, fitness, tennis, and social activities, as well as private beach privileges.
The new Bayside Ballroom at the Mansion was designed by Niemitz Design Group Inc. and Cambridge Seven Associates of Cambridge, MA. Gauthier-Stacy Inc. was responsible for the Mansion interior overhaul, providing interior design and converting meeting rooms to dining and lounge areas.
